JUST ANNOUNCED: Rufus does Judy at City Winery – June 2022

Following his streamed concert of “Rufus does Judy at Capitol Studios” on Judy Garland’s 99^th birthday on June 10^th 2021, Rufus takes the Judy material live exclusively to City Winery in New York and Chicago for very limited runs to celebrate Judy’s 100^th birthday in June of 2022.

Performing two shows in one night, the sets will be split up where the early show covers songs from “When you’re smiling” to “San Francisco” and the late one “I can’t give you anything but love” to “Chicago” with some additional surprise numbers during both sets.

Rufus will replicate the four-piece band set up from Capitol Studios with music director Mark Hummel (Newsies, Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular etc.) on keys who played the piano in Wainwright’s 2010 and 2016 Carnegie Hall, Hollywood Bowl, London Palladium, Paris Olympia, and Luminato Festival Toronto performances of the entire “Rufus does Judy” concert. Pete Donovan will be on bass, Brian Koonin on guitar, Steve Bartosik on drums.

Rene Zellweger will not be in the audience this time even though she said “Witnessing Rufus do the entire Judy Garland Carnegie Hall show was the most special day and I loved sharing the time.” but therefore the public can slip into her shoes and buy tickets at rufuswainwright.com/tour
