I went to the Truro concert.... super!
For anyone who has been to the eden project or lives near by they will know what hell is it going to be getting home again, let alone getting everyone out.
St Austell is only a town, with tiny country roads around it, I can't imagine trying to get out of there after a concert.
Shame on the choice of day, right in the middle of a working week. Otherwise I would have been there in a flash.
Give us a Truro concert again!
Just posted about this on the thread someone started. It's a great venue and easy-peasy to get in and out - very small crowd compared to their day time visitor capacity. I stayed in a B&B in Fowey when I saw Goldfrapp there last year, nicer town than St Austell and about 15min drive.
There's a moral conflict here:

It's not too late to put things right.
Truth.
I know it is unlikely, but does anyone think I could get away with bringing my 3 year old daughter? Are these Eden Project gigs a festival vibe or very much grown ups only? Just saw Rufus at the Old Vic for the 1st time and would do ANYTHING to see him again. And surely it would be a rare privilege for a toddler to hear him live?!
This is a great venue - its outdoors and in a natural quarry bowl, and the stage has the magnificent domes as a backdrop, lit up at night it's great. It only takes about 6000 so is a really intimate venue. If you arrive early you can have a look around the domes (no extra cost). They have a family area to the side (here's a map https://www.edenbookings.com/events/sessions/arena.pdf) but you have to pay full price for any children including babies. They don't recommend under 12s but I have seen young ones there. I've been to lots of venues inc NEC, Wembley, Brixton Academy, Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Hall 4 Cwll, Plym Pavillions, and saw Goldfrapp & Magic Numbers at Eden last yr and would rate it as 1 of my favourite venues of all! There r queues but they're not that bad.
Re the politics - the buildings are inspiring to see, but the plants & "environmental message" bit dull & spun really, and yes it has been a huge and bottomless pit for public money for a loss-making project which should really be self-sustaining for the 1 million odd visitors a year it currently gets (which will be falling anytime now).
might have trouble persuading the wife! She missed him at Glastonbury, preferring to stay in the Dance Tent and missed the highlight of the whole festival! Well I have a few days to persuade her still.....
I'm traveling from the North East of England to see this gig and on my own too - sing Slideshow especially for me Rufus - "Cos it cost a lot of money to get me over there you know?"
Wanted to say a huge thanks to Rufus for giving us a fantastic concert at the Eden Project last night. It was a wonderful evening (no rain!) and he and the band were superb.
Please come back down to Cornwall again soon Rufus. x
The man is a born entertainer. The Eden show was an absolute treat. Intimate for a largish outdoor venue and his asides in between songs were hilarious. Can't wait for the next one. Thank you for coming to Cornwall - you're newest fan.
Did anyone travel from OUTSIDE UK all the way to Cornwall just to see the greatest musical genius of our time perform;)? Reporting us three girls from Finland on the front row...well, the second row anyway.
